  • WHAT IS Kid's Festival? Kid’s Festival is the largest independent youth event in South East Europe: Since 2004, over 40,000 children from all over Bosnia & Herzegovina participate each year. The widespread program combines entertainment & education: workshops, booths, quizzes, games, movies, performances, dance acts, acrobat acts, mini circus… lots of fun and many things to learn! International performers, clowns, magicians, dancers, musicians are each year the highlights of the Festival. They provide diversity and a glimpse at the cultural richness of the World for thousands of children that have never travelled outside their country.
    Kid's Festival’s motto promotes the initiative of the Council of Europe “All different, all equal”.
  • OBJECTIVES Confidence building among the young generation in Bosnia; creating trust in B&H’s future in the European landscape; building of cross-entity networks, mutual understanding among the different ethnic groups;
  • WHERE Sarajevo (Bosnia & Herzegovina) – ZETRA, Olympic Centre Juan Antonio Samaranch
  • WHEN End of the School year (7th – 11th June 2013) 7th June KID’S PARADE: 4PM - The colorful KID’S PARADE through Sarajevo City Centre starting Benetton Megastore (Ferhadija/Park Svjetlost). Walk to Zetra.
    Schools, foreign artists, partners, friends, embassies, staff members, sponsors, community police officers participate. Adults and kids: just get your flags, national costumes, fancy dresses, instruments, fantasy outfits, costumes, masks, colorful hats, face paint... dress up for the Kids Parade! The best costume or outfit will be awarded. 6:30PM Movie (special projection at Zetra)
  • 8th - 11th June: KID’S FESTIVAL IN ZETRA 2:00PM, beginning of workshops, exhibitions, entertainment, booths. 5:00PM beginning of DJ animation, Kid’s Cosmic Show. 6:00PM beginning of the film screenings (entrance to the movie hall from 4:30PM)
  • TICKETS - Box-office: at Zetra Entrance. Price: 5KM (reservations for groups over 15 pers. only)
  • SPECIAL PROMOTION: • Termalna Rivijera Ilidža will give a 50% discount for Children up to 16 years, from 12th – 30th June.
    • Benetton will give a 20 % special Kid's Festival discount.
    • CM offers -25% special Kid's Festival discount (for Toys and Teens bed linen )

Susanne Prahl Kid's Festival Director

Susanne Prahl

Founding member ViaKult Office (2003). Born June 30th 1964 in Kiel, Germany, 2 children.
CV: Susanne Prahl studied in Paris, France, where she earned a degree in literature, arts, and communication from the University of Nouvelle Sorbonne. S. Prahl also obtained a diploma as production manager from the National Institute of Audiovisual Arts and was delivered her professional license by the French Centre National de la Cinématographie (CNC) in 1992. Based in Paris for 10 years, Susanne Prahl led a successful freelance career as production manager of features movies and television productions, worldwide. L'Oreal, Garnier, (Publicis) engaged her as casting director for main international advertising campaigns. Also for 3 years she was one of the event managers of the Cannes Film Festival. Her engagement for the Bosnian cause started in 1992, working with Bernard-Henri Levy at the long feature war documentary “Bosnia” – shown at the Cannes Film Festival in 1994. In late 1994, S. Prahl moved to Bosnia and Herzegovina, working with the public broadcaster, RTV BiH (today BHT1), developing European partnerships: Arte, Canal France International, EBU, BR, ARD, ZDF, France2… From 2000-2003 she also was the head of the Sarajevo Film Festival’s Children’s Program. In 2004, together with Bernard Henri Levy, S. Prahl founded the independent NGO Viakult Office, and is since then the director of the Kid’s Festival BiH.

Alma Telibečirević Workshops & Schools

Alma Telibečirević

Born August 8th 1978 in Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina. Alma Telibecirevic is an finsihed Art Academy in Sarajevo. During 2004 she worked at NTV Hayat as a producer. Since 2005 worked for ArtZone Agency as PR and project manager. She is the producer of Teatarfest - International Festival of Experimental Theatre from 2004. She is the member of the main staff of Kid’s Fest from the very beginning, responsible for educative and creative progress. She is also in charge of coordination of all workshops.

Haris Bilalović PRESS & VIP Booking

Haris Bilalović

Haris was born on 1st of June 1983 in Sarajevo. He began his official cooperation with Kid's Festival during 2008, when he was in charge of the protocol for Bernard Henry Levi during his visit to Sarajevo. Haris is known to public as spokesperson for Tropik film & video, a leading national distributor of film. For a number of years he has taken part in the realization of numerous PBS (BHT1) projects such as TV shows: LIFESTYLE, MODA JE and weekly radio show COSMOPOLITE. As of this year he is responsible for press & VIP booking at Kid's Festival.

Denis Šparavalo head coordinator

Denis Šparavalo

After finished studies of Music Conservatories (classical guitar) Denis get back to Sarajevo and was a professor at Secondary Music School Sarajevo. He's an advanced student on Music Academy of Sarajevo (composition). Since 2005 he's working as executive production manager, stage manager and tour manager in Balkan region and abroad. Denis is with Kids Festival since 2010.

Maja Žuržulović Staff management

Maja Žuržulović

Born 12th November 1979 in Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina, married. An advanced student of the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo, where she studied until 2004 and started to work for HTTPOOL, Internet Advertising Agency. In 2008 she worked for Advertising Agency MITA Group and later on she was the editor in chief of the Lifestyle Magazine. M. Žuržulovic joined Kid's Festival's main staff since its first edition, responsible for Staff Management.

AMEL ZLOTRG Layouts & design

AMEL ZLOTRG

Born on August 30th 1974. in Travnik. From 1996. to 2009. worked at CPU Printing Company as a Executive Manager and leaded design and DTP department. Since 2006. leading the project of printing and distribution of ballots for local elections. Now working as a freelancer on projects for designing and branding. Joined the Kid's Festival team in 2010.

Ines Avdić Hospitality

Ines Avdić

Was born in September 1986 in Sarajevo, B&H. Bachelor of English Language and Literature. She was employed as English language teacher at “6. mart” Primary School. Among many other engagements, was hired as English translator at ONASA news agency, and during the International Education Fair in Sarajevo in 2009. She also worked as an au pair in Spain (teaching English to young learners), in summer 2008. Cooperation with Kid's Fest started in 2009, when she volunteered at the International Embassy Fair. Today, Ines is responsible for Hospitality - International Fair and foreign guests/artists.

Nebojša Marić Police Liaison

Nebojša Marić

Born February 2nd 1965 in Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina, married, 1 child. N. Maric started to work in Police of Republika Srpska in 1996. From 2002 he joined the Police department of Kanton Sarajevo, Police station in Stari Grad (Old City). Nebojša Maric joined Kid’s Festival since its first edition, as police Liaison Officer. He is especially in charge of the coordination of all police institutions of BiH for the Community Policing project.

Alma Čardžić Animator

Alma Čardžić

Stage host of Kid’s Festival since the beginning. She has been the representative of Bosnia & Herzegovina for EuroVision Song contest twice. In 2004 she was elected BiH pop-singer of the decade. Today Alma is taking active part in B&H's politics and she became member of the assembly.

Thorsten Powell Peters -

Thorsten Powell Peters

Started his military career in Rendsburg with a profession of Electrical Engineering Technician, became a Bachelor and left the German army in 2006 for a diploma of "World-wide Foreign Trade" and aim to reach by the end of this year the diploma of "Bachelor for Non-Profit Organizations". Powell joined the KF team as volunteer in 2006 and helped at workshops logistic. This year he is again Coordinator and team leader of the interactive, communication workshops, most important the WALL OF WISHES in cooperation with UNICEF. He launched a KF branch office in Germany which coordinates multi-cultural exchange with kids from Sri Lanka and Kenya this year.
